Elizabethtown College Doubles Make A Deposit, Make A Difference Campaign
Elizabethtown College exceeded its goal in its Make A Deposit, Make A Difference campaign by raising $5,000. The College matched those donations and announced it would double its match totaling $10,000 to provide local non-profits affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Elizabethtown College is an engaging campus community committed to helping others as our College motto Educate for Service leads us to do so,” Elizabethtown College President Cecilia M. McCormick, J.D. said. “During these uncertain times, our community feels an even larger pull to contribute to the world beyond our campus.”
As a result of the campaign, Etown will provide $5,000 to both the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Elizabethtown Bear Bags Program and The Etown Ministerium. The donations will help to provide area families with food supplies and resources.
In an effort to provide monetary donations, the College launched the Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign announcing it would match 100 percent of all deposits made by students between April 4 and 10. During the College’s first-ever virtual Accepted Student Day event on April 4, the College met and surpassed its goal. The additional $5,000 in the match for the campaign was added in recognition of all the incoming students who committed prior to the campaign going live on April 4 and who were inspired after the launch announcement.
The College’s motto Educate for Service was adopted in 1915. Educate for Service expresses the College campus community’s belief that the pursuit of knowledge is most noble when used to benefit others. Learn more about becoming a student at Elizabethtown College.
